Adiantum capillus-veneris (maidenhair fern) is a delicate plant with fresh green, pinnate leaves, carried on slender black stems. This is what gives the maidenhair its common name. It’s an attractive pot plant that is not too difficult to grow. Just give it high humidity to prevent the leaves becoming brown and crisp, and group it with other plants, or stand it on a tray of pebbles topped up with water, and mist the foliage regularly.
