Chlorophytum comosum variegatum (spider plant) is one of the most popular house plants because it is so easy to grow and increase. This is an attractive and rewarding choice. The long, grassy, yellow and green leaves arch over in a fountain of leaves. In the summer, wiry cream stems carry white flowers at their tips. After that, baby plantlets form which give a pretty cascading effect. It is a very adaptable plant but dry conditions will cause the tips of the foliage to become brown.
