Sanseviera trifasciata (mother-in-law’s tongue) has sharp (hence the common name) and spiky leaves. These sword-like leaves grow straight up and form a good specimen plant. Some varieties have golden borders to the gray-green banded leaves. Others have much shorter leaves growing in a rosette.
