Yucca is often offered for sale as one or two rosettes of stiff, mid-green, sword-like leaves. The trunk is stout and flat topped. These are very tolerant indoor plants, although they are an acquired taste. They can reach 3 m (10 ft) tall, and are inclined to be top-heavy and need large pots, preferably filled with a loam-based compost, to balance the top growth.
