Whimsical, Spontaneous, and Quietly Beautiful – How Kendall Jenner’s Vases Reflect Her Personal Style, and How You Can Get the Look

Kendall's dreamy mountain house boasts an eccentric yet elegant collection of vases, from the bold to the beautifully muted. Here's what a professional florist and an interior designer believe they say about her style.

I adore fun, tasteful pops of color in a home as much as I enjoy the beauty of neutrals and minimalism. There are so many ways to make a space into something of your own, and I always find it interesting to see how people approach choosing their decor and color combinations.

Kendall Jenner's mountain escape, which she recently shared with Architectural Digest, caught my eye – more specifically, her wide selection of vases. Every room has one in a different color, size, style, or shape, yet none of them look out of place while holding plants.

If you love creative ideas for plant containers and are wondering what vibe different vases would bring into your home, Kendall's mountain haven is the perfect guide to follow for differing style inspiration. Each one adds charm and character, giving away her vast sense of style and fearlessness when it comes to displaying greenery in bold ways.

Here's what a flower pro and an interior designer thought about Kendall's different vases, and what they believe each one says about her.

Why Mismatched Vases Work

After speaking with a floral expert about Kendall’s wide-ranging collection of vases, one key reason they consistently look so good stood out: intentionality – not just in the choice of vase, but in how it’s paired with flowers, branches, and greenery.

While the vases vary in shape and color, each one has been chosen to complement the room it sits in. None feel over-the-top or purely decorative, allowing Kendall to enjoy a diverse mix of designs without any one piece standing out for the wrong reasons.

As Adrian Aviles of the Athletic Club Flower Shop explains: "The restraint is doing the work. The shapes are simple across the board. Nothing complicated, nothing decorative for its own sake. Even when color shows up, it’s handled in a controlled way. It stays contained and intentional."

Adrian further explained how the simple contents of each winter flower display helped to keep each vase display grounded. "What’s consistent is that whatever goes into the vase feels like it comes from the same place. One source, one origin. Nothing looks mixed or assembled. The vessel isn’t there to manage variety. It’s there to hold something singular, which keeps everything quiet and balanced."

What Kendall's Vases Say About Her Style

The worlds of plants and interior design often collide, as inviting greenery and blooms into your space can boost mood as well as visual aesthetics. So it was interesting speaking to Elana Mendelson of Elana Designs about Kendall's stunning vases.

Elana believes Kendall clearly has an eclectic and unique sense of style, playful in the way that she likes to experiment with different pieces. Her collection echoes a desire to embrace subtle decor as well as tasteful bold pieces, but nothing too "out there".

This is Elana's breakdown of each vase and the kind of energy it brings into its surrounding space. Why not choose your favorites and try to replicate them?

  • Kitchen Table: "The lemon vase on the kitchen table is so bold, fun, and whimsical. Very different from a classic glass vase or pitcher to house a floral bouquet. To me, this suggests that Kendall Jenner leans into a whimsical and playful aesthetic because the lemons are so bold and truly the stars in this photo. Loose, airy, and all green branches that are more subdued will allow the lemons to continue to shine."
  • Bedroom Mantel: "A warm, terracotta-toned, narrow-neck vase (or jug) holds branching greenery on the mantel, creating a beautiful, organic silhouette against the patterned wallpaper and dark millwork. This particular vase vignette leans more towards a warm, rustic aesthetic, suggesting that Kendall enjoys bold, fun, and whimsical design and decor, but also enjoys a warmer, more rustic aesthetic. Some sort of woody branches like dogwood or fruit-prunings would be perfect in this beautiful vessel."
  • Kitchen Island: "The inky blue and white simple, plaid ceramic vase feels handmade and a little imperfect, which keeps it from feeling too polished or precious. This choice of vase, here, implies that Kendall prefers items that feel collected rather than overly styled. This vase is grounded, practical, and quietly beautiful. In a kitchen this rich and layered, the vase helps the space feel lived-in instead of overly designed."
  • Piano: This tiny bud vase with a single stem (or very few blooms) sitting on top of the red piano alongside stacked books is just pretty and quiet. Even with bold choices elsewhere, in her home, Kendall keeps her styling very human, as though someone actually lives here, sets something down, and moves on. This particular space is less of a designed vignette and more of a spontaneous and collected spot. A single garden rose or poppy would be perfect for this sweet piano topper."
  • Bathroom: "The low, rounded, light yellow, ceramic vase is simple, a little rustic, and seems to be intentionally understated. It looks more farmhouse crock than a decorative object. Even in a dark, moody bathroom, Kendall balances out the design with calming, unfussy items. Instead of adding more drama, she softens the space. The loose, airy greenery keeps the look fresh and relaxed and feels like something that was clipped from the garden early this morning."
