Amazon Is Becoming My New Favorite Plant Shop – and These Prime Day Deals Are Too Good to Miss
Whether you're a seasoned gardener looking to expand your collection or you're hoping to become more green-fingered, now's the time to scoop up some bargains.
Amazon might not seem like the most natural destination for buying plants, but it's quickly become an unexpected hub for quality garden finds. As more reputable nurseries and specialist growers begin selling through the platform, shoppers can now access a much wider range of plants without having to visit a garden centre. Choosing trusted sellers is key, but many established growers now use Amazon to reach a broader audience, making it easier than ever to find something special for your home or yard.
Whether you've had a vision for your garden for the longest time and want to create that Pinterest-worthy outdoor space, or expanding your planting scheme has been sitting on the back burner, there's no better time to bag a bargain.
Here are some of the best plant deals available during Amazon Prime Day, along with the varieties I think are most worth adding to your garden or living space.
Houseplant Deals
Costa Farms has a great variety of houseplants available in mini, small and medium sizes. You can currently purchase 20 miniature houseplants for little over $2 each, and you receive a variety of different species. Perfect to share with friends or family too!
The Money Tree is one of the most popular indoor plants around, prized for its distinctive braided trunk and lush green canopy. Compact enough for desks, shelves, and side tables, it adds an instant touch of greenery while requiring very little maintenance. Traditionally associated with luck, prosperity, and positive energy, it also makes a thoughtful gift, and is non-toxic to cats and dogs.
If you love baking, have you ever thought of growing your own vanilla pods? I haven't, and to be honest, now it's all I can think about. This deal is a great way to get started, as you receive two live plants for a low price. It's hard to resist! A word of warning – getting the plants to produce vanilla requires next-level skills, but they still make beautiful houseplants without them.
Deals on Perennials
I love foliage that shifts with the seasons. It's as thought the plant is transitioning with you throughout the different chapters of a year. This pretty grass initially emerge in a blue-green hue but then shifts to wine red as the summer progresses.
If you're looking to add long-lasting color and attract more wildlife to your yard, the Nanho Butterfly Bush is a fantastic choice. This hardy shrub produces elegant spikes of fragrant purple flowers from spring onwards, drawing in butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds throughout the season. Once established, it's both heat- and drought-tolerant.
For anyone looking to add fragrance to their yard, Confederate Jasmine is hard to beat. This vigorous climbing vine produces masses of delicate white, pinwheel-shaped flowers in spring, filling the garden with a sweet, heady scent. Easy to train and surprisingly low-maintenance!
Rose Deals
Nothing brings beauty quite like roses, and there are so many gorgeous heirloom varieties currently on sale on Amazon. Just image a trellis filled with beautiful climbing blooms, and these ones will repeatedly bloom year upon year.
This highly fragrant variety of rose has a beautiful colored centre, creating natural contrast between the heart of the flower and its outer petals. It grows best in USDA Plant Hardiness Zones 5 through 10.
This is one of my favorite rose varieties, as it always reminds me of the hues of a beautiful summer sunset. What more perfect addition is there to a yard at this time of year! I also love how they're rather showy as roses go, but the particular fragrance of this type is actually very subtle by contrast.
Deals on Edibles
Anyone who knows me knows how much I rave about tomatoes. They're so versatile to have around after a harvest – and this four-pack of live plants will ensure you have a bumper crop to enjoy for weeks to come!
Powder Blue blueberry bushes produce particularly large, sweet blueberries, perfect for snacking on their own, baking into pies or adding to smoothies. Then when they're finished for the growing season, the plants will shift into a beautiful array of copper and yellow tones for autumn. It's a win-win!
There's still time to grow some delicious eggplants! Black Beauty is a classic heirloom variety that produces large, glossy deep-purple fruits with a rich, meaty texture. Growing to around 3–4 feet tall, these sun-loving plants are highly productive, typically yielding four to six sizeable eggplants per plant around 80 days after planting.
