Your Birth Month Cat Says A Lot About Your Personality – Find Out Yours And Its Special Meaning Here
From ragdolls to Bengals, your birth month cat might reveal more about your personality than you think...
Sir Terry Pratchett famously declared that cats remember when they were worshipped as gods, and it makes sense; our feline friends have an extra-special hold on our hearts – so much so that, yeah, we 100% want to know our birth month cat.
If you're one of those people who spends a lot of time reading up on how to make your yard more appealing to your cats (or which plants that are poisonous for cats) rather than tips on how to repel the neighborhood's kitties, then chances are you've wondered which cat breed best matches your personality at least once. At least.
It makes a lot of sense, too; after all, from playful kitties to lap cats that just want to be left alone to their sunbeam, there is an incredible amount of variety to be found in the feline kingdom. And after looking at our birth month pets, I couldn't resist taking a closer look at cats in particular...

February – Abyssinian
February belongs to the Abyssinian, which makes a lot of sense when you think about it. Just like the creative, curious and intelligent people born at this time of year, Abyssinians are famously inquisitive, playful and adventurous.
In other words, these kitties are true free spirits. Sound familiar?
March – Russian Blue
March babies are quiet, sensitive and introspective – but don't let the fact that they're not the loudest in the room fool you. Especially as their birth month cat is an elegant beauty who's often reserved around strangers but affectionate with their trusted people.
Basically, the Russian Blue is a perfect match for March's gentle and imaginative personality for a reason. And, if this has struck a nerve with you, then why not honor your birth month cat further with this Russian Blue Calendar 2027?
April – Bengal
Bold, adventurous and full of charisma, April belongs to one of the more unusual members of the cat family: the Bengal. Unlike many cats that absolutely abhor water, these pretty kitties absolutely love it – almost as much as they love exploring. This, coupled with their energetic and confident natures, means they're not exactly known for sitting quietly on the sidelines! (Sound familiar?)
May – Siamese
One of the most iconic cat breeds going, May's birth month cat is the sociable, expressive and strong-willed Siamese.
With their bright blue eyes and unusual coloring, these kitties are among the most instantly recognizable breeds in the US. They're also famously vocal and people-oriented, with plenty of personality to keep everyone entertained... just like May babies.

June – Ragdoll
If you're a June baby, you're romantic, sensitive and affectionate. No surprises, then, that your birth month cat is the beautiful ragdoll! These gorgeous kitties are known for their gentle souls, their people-loving natures and their tendency to follow their favorite humans around the house.
Essentially, they're a lovely fit for June's dreamy and sentimental side. And they go all floppy like a ragdoll when you pick them up, making them excellent snugglers, too!
July – Birman
If you're a July baby, you're curious, private and quietly determined – and you tend to prefer a small but loyal friendship group to a big and sprawling one. Enter, then, one of the cutest birth month cats on this list: the Birman!
Loyal, loving and family-oriented. Birmans are often affectionate and sociable without being excessively demanding. They're the comforting presence of the feline family, basically, so lean into it!

August – Burmese
Born in the height of summer, August babies tend to be every bit as sunny-natured as you think they'd be – think confident, outgoing and full of character. No wonder, then, that their birth month cat is the Burmese; these kitties are sociable, playful and love being involved in whatever their humans are doing.
They certainly know how to command attention, and all hail that kind of chaotic energy, quite frankly!
September – British Shorthair
September's long been associated with successful leaders, which means those born under this month tend to be practical, composed and deeply intelligent. Their birth month cats are similar, as British Shorthairs are generally calm, independent and undemanding.
They appreciate a routine and like things just so, but they like it that way for a reason – and it's why they're one of the most popular cats around, as it makes for a cuddly and serene companion.
October – Turkish Angora
October babies, assemble! While some might expect those born in the spookiest month of all to be assigned a birth month cat like the hairless Sphynx cat, think again!
Turkish Angoras are intelligent, playful and often quite determined. They have a flair for the dramatic, too, making them an ideal match for passionate, expressive and sociable October-born folk everywhere. (Although, admittedly, this 'I Like A Handful Of Humans And My Turkish Angora' Mug is giving pure Scorpio energy!).
November – Bombay
Wannabe witches, rejoice! November babies get the beautiful Bombay cat, which might be the most mysterious member of this list of birth month cats. Why? Well, because with their glossy black coats and striking eyes, these kitties have an enigmatic appearance, while often being deeply affectionate with their chosen people.
If this is your birth month cat, you're mysterious, intuitive and quietly determined... and a brilliant person to have in anyone's corner, quite frankly.
December – Somali
Last but not least, December babies are known for being adventurous, energetic and fun-loving – and generous of spirit enough to be able to deal with the fact that their birthday falls smack-bang in the middle of the holidays.
Somalis, then, make their ideal birth month cat, as they are curious, playful and love exploring their surroundings. (As an added bonus, they're simply stunning, too!).
Ernest Hemingway famously declared that “a cat has absolute emotional honesty: human beings, for one reason or another, may hide their feelings, but a cat does not.” Whichever birth month cat you call your own, then, try to follow its good example and be more in touch with your true feelings and self.
Remember, too, that you don't have to own a cat (does anybody truly own a cat, after all?) to enjoy seeing them in your garden; plant up some cat-friendly plants, and watch the kitties go to town. Just be sure to keep bird feeders up and out of their way, yeah?
