Just pop it over seed starting trays, pots, or railing planters to encourage strong plant growth and have your best summer yet. I’m putting this one in my cart now. Keep reading to learn more about the benefits of using a mini greenhouse in your garden.
Benefits of a Mini Greenhouse
Ideally, I would love an enormous backyard with an unlimited budget and space for a fabulous glass greenhouse with a luxurious atmosphere. That’s not going to happen any time soon, but I don’t have to wait for the benefits that a greenhouse offers.
Article continues belowA mini greenhouse is a fabulous way to extend the growing season and give plants the best chance at success. Greenhouses, no matter the size, retain humidity that seedlings, newly rooted propagations, and tropical plants need to thrive. They also provide a controlled environment for seed starting compared to planting directly outside. You can keep pests and late spring frosts from harming your baby plants.
I have railing planters that I try to grow herbs and lettuce in every year, but they are attacked by birds and squirrels as soon as the seeds sprout their cotyledons. I am really excited to try this mini greenhouse from ALDI to protect my porch herb garden. It is 24.6 inches (62.5 cm) square so it will fit perfectly over my railing planters and it features a zippered opening with ties to allow for ventilation and easy access.
When you don’t have much space, or don’t need a full walk-in greenhouse, a mini greenhouse is a smart way to reap the benefits of a greenhouse. You can grow vegetables, flowers, or houseplants in a perfectly controlled environment. Protecting your seedlings means they will be bigger, stronger, and healthier when you transplant them in the garden and you are more likely to have the garden of your dreams come true.
